Greenhouse Yields Go Crazy
Our Microgreens farm is an adventure, and ever since starting up the farm, we’ve been intent on fine-tuning all of our processes in order to create a sustainable business that will stand the test of time. This includes making changes to what we’re doing in the greenhouse with our crops. Over the last few weeks, we’ve been experimenting with the schedule for some of our microgreens and in the process ended up with extra greens that measured way beyond what we needed to fill orders. We gave some out as samples, and decided we had other options. ☺️
Animals Know Quality Food
Animals know quality food! Our chickens free range, but when we give them some feed to supplement what they forage, they pick through it for exactly what they want—and leave the rest. A few weeks ago, when a video of a bear showed him turning his nose up at a fast-food burger, it was just another indicator that animals know exactly what they need, and they won’t settle for less. What they need is high quality, nutrient-dense, real food! What we found out recently is that the animals at Blue Chip know a quality product when they see (and taste) it! 😋

When I mentioned sending some of those extra Microgreens to Blue Chip, my husband thought it was a great idea. On a particularly busy and stressful day, stopping in at the refuge created a magical moment for him... as evidenced in this text about the idea to share our abundance. 🥰

I wish good food choices were as easy for me as they were for this rabbit! Making healthy food choices is not easy, but quality food does make eating healthy easier!
The animals at Blue Chip enjoyed our high quality greens with enthusiasm! They enjoy them regardless of where we are located. They don't know that we commit to growing fresh, organic products either. And, it probably doesn't matter to them that we pack and deliver our Microgreens within 24 hours of harvesting! If you've had microgreens before though, especially if they came from out of town, you know there is no comparison... Back Mountain Microgreens products look and taste great!
